How long do you need to water for per application?
You will need to spread some catch cups randomly over your lawn to measure how long it takes to fill 10 mm of water. This will determine how long you need to set your controller box per application. Therefore, if it takes 20 minutes to catch 10 mm, it would be recommended that you divide that by the applications per day. E.g., Watering 3 times a day, each time the lawn to receive 3.5mm, 20 minutes divided by 3 times per day = 7 minutes (approximately) per application.
If you have installed sub surface irrigation please ensure you water from above with a sprinkler or hose for the first 3 weeks, to ensure the lawn does not dry out and to allow strong deep roots to appear within the soil.
By considering and implementing the above factors to your new lawn you will reap the reward of a successful looking garden, saving you money and time for future years to come.
